HOMEMADE PITA CHIPS
While making guacamole the other day, we realized we were out of chips. Laziness led to ingenuity, so instead of running to the store, we took whole-wheat pita breads from the freezer and made pita chips. By generously rubbing each wedge with olive oil, each piece had the perfect mouth feel — optimal crispiness with the right amount of chewy. Deliciously versatile to be eaten with nearly any dip or guac, fresh out of the oven.
Ingredients
4 whole wheat 8” pitas
4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Salt & pepper
Preparation
Preheat oven to 375°
Generously brush each side of the pitas with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper
Slice each pita into 8 slices (pizza style)
Place on a baking sheet and cook 15-20 minutes, flipping once, about half-way through
Serves 4.
